Hi, I'm Daniel, nice to meet you. Read along to learn a bit about myself and the things I do.

Daniel Zielinski

At the moment our (my wifes and mine) focus is to live healthy as long as we can . This includes a lot of weight lifitng, sports, healthy food (lots of proteins!) and quite some data tracking (e.g. sleep, blood, exercise, glucose). Its quite fun to see how your body reacts and feels with some adjustments!

On December 20th 2022 we moved to our house, which is quite an upgrade to our previous flat. We are incredible humble to be able to afford it and are greatful every single day. I still have to pinch myself that this is truly ours.

Since 17th November 2021 we became proud parents of our little son Constantin, who is quite clever and really knows how to get what he wants from mum and dad. Its an incredible ride since then, with a lot of ups and down. The best way to describe having a child is that you want to spend every minute with that little monster, but at the same time its the best feeling when he is finally asleep.

I read a lot of books and since beginning of 2021 I share that passion with 2 former AWS colleauges. We try to read 1 book a month and while doing so we meet once a week to discuss the progress and discuss what we read. Its great to share that with others and have that exchange. I strongly believe reading those books, changed me as a person and how I view the world and I would highly encourage everybody to read, like a lot! Let me know if you need any book recommendations.

With 2nd of January, 2020 I started a new job at Amazon Web Services. I'm an account manager for Startups, which means I try to help those innovative people get the most out of the services AWS offers. But it doesn't stop there, I get the chance to work with likeminded people who are truly obsessed about their customers and really want to change the world.

Since the middle of December 2019 I try to grow a beard - lets see how that turns out. Update: well... it didn't and I actually think I looked kinf of stupid :D

In November 2019 my wife and I tried vegan. I would say it was great, thanks to the effort of my wifes cooking skills I guess! Since a couple of years we are not doing it religiously, which I guess is a convenient way to approach it.

I quit my job at Avanade on the 30th of September 2019, which was a hard step, since I made so much friends there and learned a lot! I'm truly thankful for the time and how I was able to develop professionally and personally.

On the 14th of September 2019 I married my best friend, who I already dated for 11 years.

I ran my first Half Marathon in Vienna on the 7th of April 2019, which I finished with a time of 1:37:31h with just 4 months of training. In 2020 I want to finish it under 1:30:00h. Yeah... and then Covid came along...

On the 1st of October 2018 I proposed to my girlfriend with a LEGO Ring in Central Park in New York with a hired musician who acted as a street performer.

In September 2018 I turned 30, which hurted back then, but after some time I realized growing older is the only way forward (obviously).

Since June 2018 I hold a second Masters degree in Executive Management from the University of Applied Sciences for Executive Management. Writing the thesis was great fun, as this was also where I learned the most, but I won't do it again to be honest.

On the 1st of June 2018 I had the honor to be best man to one of my longest friends.

As I am a vivid reader, 3 days before 2018 I made an App to track notes for the books I read. Its called Book Hints and beautifully displays the notes with the colors of the books cover.

In July of 2017 I got the news, that I would be the godfather of a friends second boy, which is one of the best things ever!

In May of 2017 I made my first career shift as I started at Avanade as a Consultant for projects within the Microsoft Cloud. I truly learned a lot and developed into an Agile Coach within my time there.

On the 25th July 2016 I had the honor to be best man to a dear friend of mine.

In late 2015 I released my second App Count Score, which is an app to track points for any game, which is round based. I wrote that app because the granny of my wife always accused me of counting her points wrong. Now over 30.000 people downloaded the App world wide!

In October 2014 I released my very first app called FIMPL, which helps people find football fields in amateur leauges within Austria. I rewrote it from scratch several times, adding a ton of new features everytime. Thats when I really fell in love with programming and making apps.

In 2013 I graduated from the University of Applied Science in Vienna with a Masters degreee in Intelligent Transport Systems yeah, you can actually study that!

From 2013 until 2017 I started my career at ASFINAG in Vienna. I was responsible for the mobile application, and several national Traffic Telematic related projects.

I guess I somehow found my passion for programming somehwere in 2013 as my dad needed a website for his business (I have to admit I haven't updated it since). From then on I got hooked and have no problem doing it for hours (I also sometimes hate it really much, but who doesn't?)

Due to a ever disjointing knee I quit playing football in 2012, which was hard back then, but in retrospektive was long overdue as it consumed too much time.

I started dating my wife in 2008 after I successfully fled the friendzone I have been to for 5 years. No such remarkable accomplishment has been recorded in history of men.

Still not sure how, but in 2007 I did my Matura from a higher technical school in Vienna, despite playing way too much Warcraft III (which I still do today).

My first concert was Spice Girls somewhere around 2002 in Vienna with my uncle.

On the 11th of September of 1988 I was born in Vienna as the second of three children.
